YR-4 Helicopter in India-Burma Theatre

Being needed for rescue work in the India-Burma Theatre a YR-4 helicopter was flown from Wright Field, Ohio in a Douglas C-54. It was subsequently used to land near inaccessible wrecked aircraft. 1st Lt. Irwin C. Steiner, 7845 Cornhill Ave., Chicago, Illinois has removed the principal instruments from a North American B-25 cockpit. Note the can of paint and brush with which he has just painted a large X on the wing of the B-25 to prevent pilots from reporting the wreck as a new one.
