With parachutes billowing behind it, a Consolidated B-24 Liberator
With parachutes billowing behind it, a Consolidated B-24 Liberator bomber piloted by Capt. Bill R. Adams of 629 Grant Road, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, comes to a stop on its home runway after bombing the Manfried Weiss motor works in Budapest. The hydraulic system was shot out over the target, rendering brakes and flaps inoperative, so the parachutes were pressed into service to slow the landing roll.
