While enroute to the dropping zone at the air warning station on Mt. Atwell in the Indian jungles, the crew of the cargo plane kept their eyes peeled for any sign of Japanese troops encamped in the mountainous area, commonly referred to as the "Hump". Sighting a probable hiding place, the pilot shouted, "Hang on!", and pointed his left wing to the ground. August 1943.
