Veterans at Red Cross

Writing their families to tell them they will soon start home, are these two veterans of the China Theatre. They are S/Sgt. Carl Zimmer of St. Louis, Missouri (left) and T/Sgt. James J. Spadaro of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The men are at the Red Cross Club of the 14th Air Force Processing Center at Yankai, China. Both are members of the 51st Fighter Group, 14th Air Force, one of the oldest organizations in the China Theatre and among the first to return to the U.S. for demobilization. 10 October 1945.
