US Air Force pilgrims at Lourdes

At the Grotto spring in Lourdes where water sprang from a rock when the visions of the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared before St. Bernadette, U.S. Air Force in Europe pilgrims, who participated with seven other nations in three day ceremonies honoring flyers killed during World War II, fill containers which they brought with them. To prevent crowding in the grotto where the spring originates, the water is now piped outside for the hundreds of pilgrims who visit the shrine daily.
