US 8th USAAF bombers at Blois

At Blois, near Orleans on 11 June 44, heavy bombers of the 8th USAAF bombed the bridge across the Loire there plus a large military camp. Nazi reinforcements for the beachhead would find it difficult to make their way across this span after the attack. Three large sections of the bridge are partially submerged from direct hits and supports on the bank have been damaged.
