Twining rescued in Coral Sea

Brig. Gen. Nathan F. Twining, Portland, Oregon, Comes ashore from a Navy PBY flying boat which rescued him after his B-17 plane had been forced down in the Coral Sea. Gen. Twining, Commanding General of the 13th AF at Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides, had been given up for lost until a "Flying Fortress" piloted by Lt. William H. Bailey, Ogden, Utah sighted his life raft five days after his plane had been forced down.
