Thunderbolt pilots destroy ME 110

Two Thunderbolt pilots teamed up to destroy the ME 110 shown above and in the course of the battle the automatic camera in the wing of the airplane flown by Maj. Everett W. Stewart, Abilene, Kansas, Photographed not only the victim but the plane of Lt. John B. Coleman, 4455 North Frederick Ave., Milwaukee, Wis. The bullets from Major Stewart's guns were blasting into the German ship as proved by the strikes clearly visible on the left wing when Lt. Coleman cut in front of him to finish off the victim. Major Stewart was forced to cease shooting to keep from hitting his squadron mate but a moment later Lt. Coleman's bullets finished the job and the Messerschmitt crashed in flames.
