Thunder Dragons in China

The "Thunder Dragons", a fighter group in China, operated from fields where facilities were frequently negligible and air lift tonnage was kept at a minimum. Accordingly, Capt. George L. Timme, Jr., of Glenside, Pa., had to keep size and weight and portability in mind when he decided to construct a radio control tower to fill in until a more permanent structure could be built. Here he is shown operating his set at his base somewhere in China.
