Standard Oil plant at Gennevilliers attacked

Hundreds of tons of grease for German tank treads came from this plant of Standard Oil at Gennevilliers, suburb of Paris, before the 8th USAAF attacked it on 22 Jun 44. The bombardment stopped production entirely and destroyed almost all of the stocks on hand. It occurred during the early phase of the fighting in Normandy and robbed the Wehrmacht of the plant's output for the remainder of the French campaign.
