Aerial view of German Prison of War Camp Stalag 7A near Moosburg, Bavaria, Germany, where thousands of United States Air Force prisoners of war were imprisoned along with thousands of allied prisoners of various nationalities. Most Air Force prisoners arrived here from Stalag Luft III, Sagen, Germany about 4 February 1945. This photo was taken 20 days before the Camp was liberated by American ground forces. The German guard garrison was housed in the group of long barracks buildings in the right center of the photo. Parked in the parade ground are twenty two white G.I. trucks which delivered thousands of Red Cross food parcels for the hungry POWs. 9 April 1945.
