Sousse after bombing raid

Sousse, Tunisia - The city of Sousse shown after the heavy bombing raid by the U.S. Army's 12th Air Force and the RAF on docks and shipping installations. Clearly visible are the blackened ruins of factories, dock buildings, warehouses, bombed vessels lying on their sides and much railroad equipment which has been put out of commission. The bombing of Sousse, greatly reduced its use as a supply port for the Germans in Tunisia under Rommel and Von Arnim.
