Soldiers moved to China

Two Divisions were moved to China from Burma in Dec. 44 and Jan. 45, to stop what was believed to be a Jap drive on the key city of Kweiyang, China. The air movement of 25,491 Chinese and American soldiers, 1,596 horses and mules, 42 jeeps, 48 75 mm Howitzers, 48 42 mortars, 48 75 A/T guns and miscellaneous supplies and equipment was accomplished in 24 flying days, involving 1,351 sorties. Two aircraft are missing from these operations and one is known to have crashed into the mountains. - At an airfield in Burma Douglas C-47 planes waiting to load Chinese troops and equipment for movement to China.
