Signal Unit at New Guinea Airfield

Communications soldiers with a Signal Unit of the 17th AAF Service Command, "dig in," to establish their telephone switchboard in a sandbag dugout at an advance New Guinea Airfield. Signalmen maintain all lines of communication at their Airbase, and they were among the first troops to move into a newly captured area.
