Shown here is "Goering Grave Yard", the scrap pile maintained by the 492nd Air Service Group of the 9th A.F., commanded by Lt. Col. Alan D. Catterall, of Garden City, L.I., N.Y. This scrap pile is part of the once powerful Luftwaffe. These planes will soon be reduced to scrap under the extensive Air disarmament program being conducted by units of the 2nd Air Disarmament Wing, of the 9th Air Force Service Command.
