Sgt Zettervall in the ETO

Sgt. Thomas Zettervall, 22, of Portland, Oregon, member of the ground crew of a Thunderbolt (P-47) somewhere in the ETO, puts his personal greeting to Hitler on this 500lb "Cookie". Later he rolled it under the belly of the ship and attached it--Thus making the Thunderbolt a fighter bomber and a new threat to the Fortress Europe. The bomb is attached the same as the auxiliary gasoline tank which the plane carries on long distance fighter escorts. Personal bomb daily.
