Sgt. John H. Dowell, 1255 Page St., Bristol, Va., is a propeller specialist with a Consolidated B-24 Liberator Bomb Group in the 15th Air Force, Italy. In his spare time he invented this washing machine. This picture shows the Sgt. at work with the week's laundry, a matter of minutes before it is a snowy khaki in color. Note clothesline strung from nose to wing of Liberator.
