Geraci, of Frederick, Maryland, a photographer assigned to the 1st Air Division, sits in front of a Buddhist temple in the Ishikawa Exhibit house and listens while an Okinawan guide explains that the temple was constructed of "daigo", a very light weight local wood, by a famous Japanese artist named Kumakai who disappeared in Okinawa during the war.
