HISTORIC SEINE TRAPS FLEEING GERMANS, Movement of troops, supplies, and ammunition by rail was thwarted by destruction of railroad bridges such as this. Crossing the Seine River in France at a point vital to the German plans, it was cut in half by aerial bombardment by the U.S. Army 9th Air Force.
