Rome Littorio Airdrome bombed in Italy

Rome Littorio Airdrome, Italy. Well covered with bomb-crater "post-holes" before the landing by Allied troops on January 22, Rome Littorio Airdrome was of no value to the Luftwaffe. Part of the Air Plan for the support of the landing, called for the knock-out of all airdromes in the Rome area before D-day. Littorio was safely on the ropes.
