Red Cross truck in Libyan Desert

To be stationed with the men of the U.S. 9th Air Force in the Libyan Desert requires mobility. American Red Cross men attached to a fighter group have their office on wheels in this truck. It is also a carrier of recreational supplies to the fighter bases far up in the desert. Ray L. Goodridge, left, Red Cross Field Director, of 210 Lark Street, Rochester, New York, and Claude T. Lawrence, assistant Field Director for Washington, D. C. have driven this truck thousands of miles as the American fighter groups advanced across the Libyan Desert.
