Potez near Constantine
1943
WHAT: French Potez of ancient vintage which was used by the 3rd Photo Gp as a flying laboratory in Jan. 1943. This old bus flew equipment and laboratory personnel to the Group's first forward Unit near Constantine and was used as a Field Lab-oratory. The time and distance saved by this method marked a new era in Photo Reconnaissance work in North Africa and was hailed as an innova-tion. Hours were saved in the delivery of prints to General Headquarters. From this time on, the Forward Unit system marked the operational succ-ess of North-West African Photo Recon. Wing.
