Pilot in explosion over truck

Directly over the truck, the pilot found himself in the midst of the explosion. After landing at his base, while he was counting the holes in the plane, he found stray pieces of German uniforms, some small arms shell castings, and even some emptied German cigarette packages in his air scoop. Some of the exploding ammunition had knocked out his right engine while the holes in the left indicated that it was missed being knocked out by a scant one inch.
