Pearl Harbor Flag At Hickam Field
1941-12-07
PEARL HARBOR FLAG FLIES AT HICKAM FIELD--The garrison flag, pictured, which flew over Hickam Field, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941 at the time of the Japanese attack, was raised again at 7:55 a.m. today (Hawaii time) in special ceremonies at the Hawaiian base honoring those Americans who lost their lives in the attack. The building and all the automobiles in the picture were burned. Debris in the foreground was caused by three bombs being dropped in a group around the flag pole. This picture was taken shortly after the field was attacked by the Japanese bombers and fighters.
