Panther Tanks Smashed South Of Stavelot
Two Panther tanks, part of a column smashed in a valley south of Stavelot by Ninth Air Force Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter-bombers of Maj. Gen. E. R. Quesada's IX Tactical Air Command. Having destroyed large numbers of enemy tanks to stop von Rundstedt's advance in the Ardennes, pilots of the Ninth's Three Tactical Air Commands are taking a higher toll of armor and motor transport during the German withdrawal.
