Padua East Rail Bridge in Po Valley

A steel skeleton remains of the burned and twisted Padua East rail bridge, in the Po Valley of Northern Italy. The rail link, an important feeder line supplying German armies on the Italian battle-fronts, was drummed with high explosives by North American B-25s carrying out an air campaign to cut off supplies and reinforcements to Kesselring's armies. The bridge, or what is left of it, is located 30 miles west of Venice.
