P61 Black Widow in Mediterranean Theatre

A Northrop P-61 Black Widow night fighter of the MAAF takes off to attack enemy targets. The P-61 is now being used by the 414th Night Fighter Sq. in the Mediterranean Theatre. A veteran night fighter sq., the 414th has used the Beaufighters since 1943, adopted the "hot" Black Widow last January and has used it effectively as a night fighter in intruder missions and participated in the Breakthrough into the Po Valley in daylight missions.
