P38 Pilots over Sicily

These five fighter pilots-members of a crack North African Lockheed P-38 Lightning Squadron have probably done more than their share of handling the enemy the necessary knockout wallop over Sicily, Sardinia, and Italy. They have accounted for 19 of their squadron's 27 victories over enemy fighters. Their victory board, shown above, also lists 8 probables and 8 damaged.
