P-51 Mustang returns from Berlin

WAR PAINT --- Tagged for identification with both the Russian and American ground forces, 2nd Lt. Robert G. Young, Jr., of Midland Park, N.J., pilot of a North American P-51 Mustang, returns from escorting bombers to Berlin, slightly marred but smiling. The flag identifies Lt. Young as an American airman; the reverse side of the tag carries an inscription in Russian further confirming his status as an American flier. Pilots of the U.S. 8th AF are working in close co-operation with the Eastern and Western front, now united. 374th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group.
