P-51 at Renfrew Airfield

1943-10-18

A mechanic at Renfrew Airfield, Glasgow, Scotland stands by while a pilot checks a North American P-51 before the test flight. This plane and many others were shipped from the United States for use in the ETO. If everything works, the plane is taken to a dispersal area where a ferry pilot will pick it up to fly to an operational base. 18 October 1943.
