P-47 Thunderbolts over Po River ferry

This was a ferry point used by the German armies to transport their vehicles across the Po River - but very few vehicles were lucky enough to cross. As the convoys halted to wait for the ferry, low flying P-47 Thunderbolts of the 12th Air Force destroyed the vehicles with their accurate dive-bombing and strafing.
