P-47 Thunderbolts attack rail diversion in Northern Italy
More work for German engineers -- and more delay of supplies for Nazi troops in Italy -- were the results of this attack by U.S. Republic P-47 Thunderbolts, Flying with the Desert Air Force, on a rail diversion in northern Italy. This target has been visited before by Mediterranean Allied Tac. A.F. bombers, as evidenced by the large craters seen in the foreground. As quickly as the Jerries repair their rail lines, MATAF airmen are ready to knock them out again.
