P-47 Thunderbolt in Italy

The wings badly dented, and the sturdy propeller grawed and bent but this Republic P-47 Thunderbolt came home to its base in Italy. The pilot Lt. Richard P. Sulzbach of 1706 Rebecca St., Sioux City, Iowa, while on a strafing mission flew too low and was forced to fly through a clump of trees.
