P-47 shot down over England

All that is left of a Republic F-47 is trucked away. It was shot down by a U.S. fighter over England on 13 March 44 when guns were fired accidentally on a camera mission. The other pilot believes the gun switch may have been struck when he closed the inter cooler. After previously using the camera he had not returned switch guard to safety.
