P-38 Lightning base in Normandy

An Engineering Officer at a Lockheed P-38 Lightning base of the 9th Air Force Service Command called his men together to read them a letter from a friend in the Infantry at the front in Normandy. These aircraft specialists who keep the planes in the air, get real satisfaction out of the letter which goes all out in praise of the great job of the 9th Air Force fighters and bombers in giving direct support to our ground forces all along the fighting front.
