Out of Gas

Out of gas, a German jet-propelled Me262 lowers its wheels and prepares to land, with a U.S. 8th AF Republic F-47 Thunderbolt still hot on the jet plane's tail. Unable to make the airdrome, the German crash-landed in a nearby field. The action took place in a recent sweep by 8th Air Force fighters, and was recorded by means of the Thunderbolt's gun camera.
