AIR PUNISHMENT FOR THE RETREATING NAZI - The retreating Nazi in France gets no rest from the Allied air forces. These photographs show how his convoys and vehicles are continually under the bombardment of allied airmen. This bullet-riddled enemy staff car was one of the thousands of German vehicles knocked out by Tactical Air Force fighter bombers that pounded enemy columns for four successive days as they retreated up the east bank of the Rhone River in France.
