Nazi airdrome at St Dizier

ST DIZIER, FRANCE - MOUNTING PILLARS OF SMOKE, is all that remains visible of the buildings at the end of the Nazi airdrome, at St. Dizier, France. Rising smoke and dust completely ob-literates the buildings buzzing and humming with activity only a few minutes before. In this attack by B-24 Liberators on 24 March, the heavy bombers met with little or no fighter opposition. Some formations flew through heavy concentrations of flak.
