ME-109 shot down over Normandy

The Nazi pilot of this ME-109 dared to fly over the American sector in Normandy. He was hit and shot down by U. S. Army 9th Air Force fighters. Credit for the kill was given to the Mustang Fighter Group led by Col. George Bickell, instead of to any individual pilot, because so many were in the air at the time of the action, that credit to any one pilot could not be confirmed.
