Matsuwa Island (Kurile Island Group), with its big Jap air base, is shown in this trimetrogen photo taken from 15,000 feet on14 June 1944. Matsuwa is about 170 miles south of Paramushiro. Note two of the reconnaissance Consolidated B-24 Liberators.
