Marauder bombs Hasselt railway yards

1944-04-08

Seconds before Marauder bombs fell on the important railway marshalling yards at Hasselt, 40 miles east of Brussels, April 8, 1944. Nazi war goods were still flowing through this main junction on the Antwerp-Maastricht-Aachen line. Then bombs rained down on the main tracks, the locomotive shop (left center) and the carriage and wagon repair sheds. An Easter traffic jam resulted.
