Maj. George E. Preddy, of Greensboro, N.C. an 8th Air Force fighter pilot stationed in England, who shot down 6 German planes on one mission. Maj. Preddy is one of the top scoring American fighter pilots in the ETO with 24½ shot down in the air and 6 more destroyed on the ground. Flying his plane "Cripes-A-Mighty," Maj. Preddy bagged 6 while escorting heavy bombers into Germany.
