1st Lt. Irwin D. Lebow, 1878 Harrison Ave., New York City, N.Y., set all-time record for the Mediterranean allied Tactical Air Force on 8 Feb.1945 when he piloted a Republic P-47 Thunderbolt of the 12th AF in a "Rover Joe" directed attack against German positions in Italy, bringing the MATAF combat sortie total to the half million mark.
