Lt Kenner directs relief model

Lt. Paul I. Kenner, (right of Providence, R.I. directs the finishing touches on a three-dimensional relief model of enemy territory as seen through the stereoscope. Resembling smaller duplicates of a Norman Bel Geddes Futurama, these graphic representations of terrain features are used to familiarize bomber and strafer crews of Lt. Gen. George C. Kenney's Fifth Air Force with enemy targets before the actual-take-off for an operational mission. With their aid, bombers and strafers can plan their run to its most destructive advantage, avoid defensive fire, and quickly locate a pinpoint target with a degree of familiarity better obtained only through actual eye-witness experience. From maps, aerial photographs and terrain sketches, Lt. Kenner, former U. of Penn., chemistry major, and his staff of artist-modelers triple check the design until it is precisely correct in both feature and scale measurements.
