Lt Clopton Carries Bomb In San Francisco

To celebrate the opening of the historic international conference in San Francisco, April 25, 1945, 1st Lt. William H. Clopton, whose home at 2671 Lombard St., is little more than a mile from the actual meeting place, carried some of these 1000 pound bombs to a target in Germany the same day. Lt. Clopton, shown with the sign, and other Douglas A-26 Invader pilots of Col. Thomas R. Ford's 409th Bomb. Group of the United Nations. delivered the bombs.
