Hoover, of 1204 Locust St., Des Moines, Iowa., navigator on "Wistful Vista" said, "When the flak hit us a minute and a half before reaching the target it was like somebody kicking us in the groin with pointed shoes. It hurt all over. A direct hit was scored on our ball turret, scattering bits of our gunner everywhere".
