Liberator over Tobanio runway

How a lone "Snooper" Liberator rendered one of the enemy's best runways unserviceable, is shown in this strike photo taken just as the bombs burst in a string down the center of Tobanio runway in southern Borneo. Strikes of this type are made by single B-24s from the veteran "Snoopers" unit, coming in at intervals during the day to keep possible enemy air power to a minimum in the Borneo area while "Jungle Air Force" formations strike the bigger targets.
