L-1 planes in Burma campaign

Security restrictions on light amphibious Vultee L-1 planes that evacuated wounded during the Burma campaign, have now been lifted. Liaison pilot, T/Sgt. James L. Mc Cullough, Westport, Ind., bails water out of the pontoons of his amphibious L-1 plane, while mechanic, Cpl. Arthur D. Stedronsky, Wagner, So. Dak., prepares the aircraft for a return flight to Lake Indawgyi in the Burma jungles. Landings on swamps and lakes were necessary where there was no clearing in the jungles for land aircraft.
