Incendiaries at Laha Field Ambon Island

Incendiaries streak film and HE bursts register (center) at Laha Field, across bay from Amboina, Ambon Island, Netherland East Indies. This photo was taken in Jan 44, from a bomber, with camera lens open 4 seconds. Terrain illumination is by flash bomb. Pinpointing of incendiaries is done by superimposing similar photo taken by another plane. Point where streaks cross is location of fires. Bomb bursts registered by own flash are spotted in area by good guess. But smoke puffs, when shown up by photo flash, register true location.
