Hope-Colonna Tour South Germany

These G.I.'s of the 86th Fighter Group, part of an audience of 3000, made certain they would have seats for the opening of the Hope-Colonna tour of south Germany. The audience came two hours early and literally sweated it out under a glaring sun. The show was staged on the 86th Fighter Group's airfield at Gross Gerau, near Darmstadt. After the finale, Hope thanked Col. George T. Lee, Commanding Officer of the 86th, "for the use of the nice forest".
